D&D, Act II

Dungeons and Dragons Online is like that girl your mother warned you about – you know it's not going to work out in the long haul but boy is it fun while you're in it. And frustrating too. It is particularly unsettling playing this game when you know the rules of D&D even moderately. I understand that some sacrifices and modifications had to be made to the rules but the way the game handles a lot of things bothers me. And yet here I am, still playing, still grinding still trying out any character class I fancy.

Don't get me wrong, I like D&D Online or I wouldn't even bother talking about it here, but I know it's just not a game I can subscribe to. I also have a retail box of LOTR Online but I don't know if it is worth the effort (note: it apparently is).

I do like these games that are offering trials – it's a great service to the community and it gives everyone a chance to see if a particular MMO is worth paying for. For some, I suspect it is, but I am not one of those people. Of course, like free eats and drink, I'm going to keep playing until my time runs out. Maybe I'll be singing a different tune in nine days...
