Boo Boos

There is nothing more jarring than an accident involving one of your kids and my son had one tonight that scared me a little despite the fact that it was a minor bump.

He had been "rockin' out" and fooling around in the living room, but he wasn't paying attemtion to how close his head was to the table and then it happened.

BAM!

He slammed his head into the table.

The first thing I thought was "he's gonna need stitches." He doesn't.

The second thing I thought as the blood trickled down his face was " he's gonna have a concussion." He didn't.

But it is at these moments, as a parent that sometimes I freeze like a deer caught in oncoming traffic.

At the end of it all he was okay, though he has a slight cut above his eye that doesn't look too good. But what a trooper is my son! After about 30 seconds of crying he was over it and some ice, a band-aid and some cartoons made him oblivious to the whole thing.

I see what I've got to look forward to when my little one starts walking. At least our coffee table is soft padded leather.
