If you don't already own one, why buy a wii now? Why put yourself through the stress of getting a "raincheck" and waiting until January to get it when there really aren't any decent games to buy on the Wii outside of Super Mario Galaxy and Medal of Honor Heroes 2? It just doesn't make any sense. Buy an Xbox 360, PS3 or even a hand-held.
I don't have anything against the system personally except that there are no decent third-party games and only a handful of first-party games. Compare that level of support to any other system and you can see why this will end up being a dissapointment. So, if you can avoid it or con your youngsters into something else, then go ahead and pick up a different system -- or better yet -- buy some software for another platform.
