Sure, the game is cheesier than a three cheese pizza, but the gameplay and character creation system are deep and fun.
And the game really plays out like a golden age comic book. Like Captain America and plenty of other comic heroes, the Freedom Force takes on the Nazis - the most evil movement on the planet in that time.
The game captures that magical time perfectly, but Irrational does it in a way that is pretty inoffensive to everyone.
The game also makes good use of stereotypes without being too insulting (an obvious side effect of creating hokey ethnic personalities in a game).
Playing this game makes me long for something new in this series from Irrational - maybe something on consoles that is a little more refined.
If there is one thing I can say about the game it is that it needs to be more orderly. Navigating through the powers is still awkward and having the ability to create a generic mesh within the game would have been nice.
Still this Freedom Force game still proves to be awesome. If you haven't played it I encourage you to find a demo or the full version of this wonderful game.

I should pull out my copy of this game and give it a second shot. Replaying games after a few years is as good as rereading a good book. I just finished replaying Beyond Good and Evil and it was fantastic.
