Round 1: Shadowgrounds Survivor

The first thing out of the gate: Steam is sometimes a real pain. I was downloading the game and the donload indicator just kept stopping. After a few hours of that I just shut it off and went to bed. I loaded it up again and it downloaded it quickly and I installed it. Thanks for making me lose precious play time, Steam.

Anyway, Survivor is a pretty interesting game - kind of reminds me of Take No Prisoners from Raven Software. It's a top down shooter that employs a dark setting and wave upon wave of alien attacks. Your goal is to stay alive playing as one of three characters through a number of episodes. It's an interesting game that doesn't bog itself down with much of a story, though there are moments here and there that try to explain what is going on and whatever each person's motivation is. I figure i'm almost through the single player campaign at this point.

You can catch some video and screenshots at the link above. I'll share some info on the game here and thereon this blog, but for the most part i'll save it for my review on GameShark, which I hope I will have ready by mid-to-late next week.
